I ventured deep into the forest, 20 kilometers away from the last road and house, at an altitude of about 1200 meters. Over six days, I prepared and packed all my gear into a 75-liter backpack weighing 35 kilograms, including essentials like waterproof cloth, rope, a saw blade, metal wire, an axe, and cooking gear.
I found a perfect spot among sturdy beech and oak trees to build a warm, cozy tree shelter. The rain and fog made it challenging, but I crafted a small fireplace inside to keep the shelter warm and dry. Baking bread inside was a special moment that made this remote place feel like home.
With a Canon R5 camera and GoPro 10, I documented every step of this peaceful journey. The silence of the green forest wrapped me in calmness, and building this shelter became a gift to myself—comfort and solitude embraced by nature. This project was more than survival; it was creating a sanctuary where I could welcome the new year with warmth and quiet joy.
