Beginner to Pro: Solo Bushcraft Tips You Need to Know

When I set out for solo bushcraft in the forest, I started with an unusual survival tip: using a bag and duct tape. I wrapped duct tape around my worn-out boot sole, securing a piece of sturdy wood beneath it to repair my shoe and improve traction for hiking. Next, I found a fallen log and used my compact saw to cut sections of wood for making a simple bushcraft table. With my multitool, I fitted and stabilized the tabletop using branches and lashings. Staying active is important in the wild, so I crafted a DIY training tool—a wooden barbell—by cutting, shaping, and assembling it myself. Each step challenged me to adapt and use my available resources creatively. Throughout the process, I relied on my knives and bushcraft axe for carving, shaving wood, and assembling everything securely. These practical hacks made my outdoor experience more comfortable, safe, and enjoyable. Feel free watch full video below.
