The process of building the luxury wooden house began with gathering natural materials from the surrounding forest. I carefully selected sturdy tree roots to craft the basic furniture pieces such as tables and chairs. Using hand tools, I shaped and smoothed the wood to create functional, comfortable seating and surfaces to work on. Attention to detail was important, as these pieces had to be both durable and practical for daily use.
Next, I constructed shelves and cupboards to organize and store supplies. These were integrated into the house’s structure for stability and ease of access, maximizing the use of the limited space available. Each shelf was measured and secured firmly to ensure it could hold essential items without damaging the overall framework.
A major part of the project was the installation of a rainwater tank. This system was designed to collect and store rainwater efficiently, providing a renewable source of fresh water critical for survival and cooking. Constructed from natural materials, the tank was positioned to capture runoff and filtered for cleanliness.
Cooking involved innovative use of natural resources, such as using pine resin to ignite fire for cooking and snail catching. This sticky resin burns well, making it a valuable resource in the bushcraft environment.
Throughout the build, care was taken to use sustainable methods and materials that blended with the natural environment. The process was time-consuming and required patience, as every component was handmade without modern tools.
By the end, the house was not only a shelter but a functional and comfortable home, reflective of perseverance and respect for nature. This project highlighted the importance of resourcefulness and skill in creating a self-sufficient lifestyle in the wilderness.
